Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
