The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure and do not diminish the goods of people, 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 So cause thou a fragment of the heaven to fall upon us, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 187 He said: My Lord knows best what you do. 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 Surely, in this is indeed a sign; but most of them would not believe: 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
