The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib (Shuaib) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah (and obey Him)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not diminish the goods of the people, and do not make mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, "You are no more than a bewitched and insane man 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 "Now cause a piece of the sky to fall on us, if thou art truthful!" 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they gave him the lie. And thereupon suffering overtook them on a day dark with shadows: and verily, it was the suffering of an awesome day! 189 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
