And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And that they say what they do not do. 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
