And most surely this is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 what avail will their past enjoyments be to them? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And put thy trust in the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Art thou not aware that they roam confusedly through all the valleys [of words and thoughts,] 225 And they speak what they do not do? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
