And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 The Trustworthy Spirit brought it down. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.) 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 And was this not a sign for them, that the scholars of the Descendants of Israel may recognise this Prophet? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 They are not worthy of it, nor have they power. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not thou unto another god along with Allah, lest thou be of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
