And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 Which the trusted spirit descended with 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
Almighty Allah's Truth.
