The Ant (Al-Naml)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Ta Sin. Those are the signs of the Koran and a Manifest Book, 1 A guidance and good tidings for believers 2 Who fulfil their devotional obligations, pay the zakat, and believe with certainty in the life to come. 3 Those who do not believe in the Hereafter – We have made their deeds seem good to them, so they are astray. 4 Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers. 5 And indeed you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), are taught the Qur’an from the Wise, the All Knowing. 6 When Musa said to his family: Surely I see fire; I will bring to you from it some news, or I will bring to you therefrom a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves. 7 But when he came to it, he was called: "Blessed is whosoever is in the fire, and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 8 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. 9 And throw down thy staff! But when he saw it writhing as it were a demon, he turned to flee headlong; (but it was said unto him): O Moses! Fear not! the emissaries fear not in My presence, 10 as for those who do wrong and then do good after evil, I am most forgiving, most merciful. 11 Put your hand into your pocket. It will come out sheer white but unharmed. This is one of the nine miracles which shall be showing to the Pharaoh and his people; they are truly wicked men." 12 But when Our Signs came to them, that should have opened their eyes, they said: "This is sorcery manifest!" 13 And they denied them unjustly and proudly while their soul had been convinced of them; consider, then how was the end of the mischief-makers. 14
