Corruption has appeared in the land and the sea on account of what the hands of men have wrought, that He may make them taste a part of that which they have done, so that they may return. 41 Say thou: go forth in the land and behold what wise hath been the end of those of aforetime? And most of them were associaters. 42 So turn your face exclusively towards the True Faith before there comes the Day whose coming from Allah cannot be averted, the Day when people will split into groups. 43 So that he who disbelieves will bear the consequence of his unbelief; and he who does the right will straighten out the way for himself, 44 That He may reward those who believe and work righteous deeds, out of his Bounty. For He loves not those who reject Faith. 45 And of His signs is that He sendeth winds heralding rain and that He may make you taste of His mercy, and that the ships may sail at His command and that ye may seek His grace, and that haply ye may return thanks. 46 Before you We sent other Messengers to their people; and they came with clear signs. We took revenge upon the sinners, and it was an incumbent duty upon Us to give victory to the believers. 47 Allah sends the winds that stir up clouds and then He spreads them in the sky as He pleases and splits them into different fragments, whereafter you see drops of rain pouring down from them. He then causes the rain to fall on whomsoever of His servants He pleases, and lo, they rejoice at it, 48 though before its coming they had despaired. 49 Look then at the marks of Mercy of Allah; how He revives the earth after its death. He is the Reviver of the dead. He has power over all things. 50 And if We sent a wind and they beheld it yellow, they verily would still continue in their disbelief. 51 For you do not make the dead hear nor make the deaf hear the call when they flee, turning back. (The disbelievers are referred to as dead and deaf.) 52 Nor can you make the blind see the way when they have gone astray. You can make none hear except those who believe Our signs and have come to submission. 53
