Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 A Guide and a Mercy to the Doers of Good,- 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 Some men there are who buy diverting talk to lead astray from the way of God without knowledge, and to take it in mockery; those -- there awaits them a humbling chastisement. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 [As against this,] verily, those who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall have gardens of bliss, 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind. 10 This is the creation of Allah; shew me that which those beside Him have created. Aye! the wrong-doers are in error manifest. 11
