۞ O men, it is you who stand in need of God. As for God, He is above all need, worthy of praise. 15 If He so wills, He can do away with you and bring forth a new mankind [in your stead]: 16 that is surely no great matter for God. 17 No burden-bearer shall bear another's burden, and if some over-laden soul should call out for someone else to carry his load, not the least portion of it will be borne for him, even though he were a near relative. You can only warn those who fear their Lord in the unseen, and pray regularly. Anyone who purifies himself will benefit greatly from doing so. To God all shall return. 18 Equal are not the blind and those who can see, 19 Nor darkness and light, 20 Nor is the shadow equal with the sun's full heat; 21 And not equal are the living and the dead! Indeed Allah causes them to listen*, whomever He wills; and you cannot make those who are in the graves** listen. (* Listen to guidance **The disbelievers are referred to as dead, whose fates are sealed.) 22 You are no more than a warner. 23 Verily! We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner. And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them. 24 And if they call you a liar, so did those before them indeed call (their apostles) liars; their apostles had come to them with clear arguments, and with scriptures, and with the illuminating book. 25 Then I took hold of those who disbelieved, and how terrible was My denial (punishment)! 26
