The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 that your Lord is the only Lord. 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth, and all that is between them, and Lord of every point of the sun's risings. (None has the right to be worshipped but Allah). 5 Verily! We have adorned the near heaven with the stars (for beauty). 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Save him who snatcheth a fragment, and there pursueth him a piercing flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 And when they behold a sign, they turn to scoffing. 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 This is the Day of Decision which you belied. 21
