۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but this day they make full submission. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!” 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them is a Sustenance determined, 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 [And] he adds: "Would you like to look [and see him]?" 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 He said: "By Allah! thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 Other than our first death, and we shall not be punished? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this, then, let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Not so the chosen servants of God. 74
