3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And We preserved his descendants. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Of his party was also Abraham; 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!” 89 so they turned their backs on him and went off. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you that you do not speak? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 the while it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord! grant me of the doers of good deeds. 100 So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
