Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 And left (his name) for posterity. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 Why do you not speak?" 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then they (the worshippers of idols) came, towards him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 When they both agreed and Abraham had lain down his son on the side of his face (for slaughtering), 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
