And assuredly Nuh cried unto us; and We are the Best of answerers! 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We let it remain upon him in the latter: 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 Surely he was among Our faithful creatures. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 Recall what time he came unto his Lord with a heart whole. 84 When he said unto his father and his folk: What is it that ye worship? 85 Is it false deities that you want to serve rather than Allah? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 And then he fell upon them, smiting them with his right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 "Why do you worship these you carve yourselves," he asked, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And, when he (his son) was old enough to walk with him, he said: "O my son! I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering you (offer you in sacrifice to Allah), so look what you think!" He said: "O my father! Do that which you are commanded, Insha' Allah (if Allah will), you shall find me of As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called to him, "O Abraham, 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Is-haq, a prophet, and of the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
