And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon. 114 And We delivered them and their people from (their) Great Calamity; 115 We succoured them, and they gained the upper hand (against their enemies). 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture; 117 and guided them in the straight path, 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 Peace be on Moses and Aaron. 120 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 121 Lo! they are two of Our believing slaves. 122 AND, BEHOLD, Elijah [too] was indeed one of Our message-bearers 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” 125 "Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 excepting only [those who were] God's true servants; 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be upon Ilyas! 130 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138
