Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 Had he not been one of those who struggled hard, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on to the vacant surface of the earth while he was sick. 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 So they accepted faith We therefore gave them usage for a while. 148 So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons? 149 Or, did We create the angels females while they were witnessing? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 "He has chosen daughters in preference to sons"! 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 except those who are doomed to enter hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 and, verily, we too extol His limitless glory!" 166 They say, 167 If we had but a reminder from the men of old 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 But (now) they disbelieve in it, so they will come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 and watch them. They, too, will watch. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
