Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 Then the big Fish did swallow him, and he had done acts worthy of blame. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 And We caused to grow, over him, a spreading plant of the gourd kind. 146 And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more. 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 No indeed! It is one of their fabrications when they say: 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is amiss with you and your judgment? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glory be to God above that they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 You and whatever you worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 [All forces of nature praise God and say:] "Among us, too, there is none but has a place assigned to it [by Him]; 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 We glorify God." 166 What though they would say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And surely Our word has gone forth respecting Our servants, the messengers: 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 So when it does descend in their courtyards so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned! 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
