S (Saad)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 How many generations before them did We destroy? In the end they cried (for mercy)- when there was no longer time for being saved! 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 Maketh he the gods One God? Verily that is a thing astounding! 5 And the leader among them go away (impatiently), (saying), "Walk ye away, and remain constant to your gods! For this is truly a thing designed (against you)! 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Hath the reminder been unto him (alone) among us? Nay, but they are in doubt concerning My reminder; nay but they have not yet tasted My doom. 8 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord, the Most Mighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them the nations of Noah, Aad and Pharaoh, and he of the tentpegs belied, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 There was not one of them but treated their messengers as liars, so My punishment rightly overtook them: 14
