Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 We said to him, “Strike the earth with your foot; this cool spring is for bathing and drinking.” (A spring gushed forth when he struck the earth – this was a miracle.) 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhul-Kifl, and all are among the outstanding. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ And beside them will be chaste females (virgins) restraining their glances only for their husbands, (and) of equal ages. 52 This is what you were promised on the Day of Reckoning: 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 But the arrogant will have the worst return: 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This, [then, for them] so let them taste it: burning despair and ice-cold darkness 57 And other (torment) of the kind in pairs (the two extremes)! 58 Here is a multitude rushing headlong with you. There is no welcome for them. They will roast in the fire. 59 They say: Nay, but you (misleaders), for you there is no word of welcome. Ye prepared this for us (by your misleading). Now hapless is the plight. 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say: "What is the matter with us that we see not men whom we used to count among the bad ones?" 62 Took we them so unjustly for a butt of mockery, or are they deluding our eyes? 63 Indeed this is really true – the people of the hell quarrelling among themselves. 64
