And remember Our servant Ayyub, when he called upon his Lord: The Shaitan has afflicted me with toil and torment. 41 [and thereupon was told:] "Strike [the ground] with thy foot: here is cool water to wash with and to drink!" 42 And We granted him his family and a like [number] with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for those of understanding. 43 (and We said to him): “Take in your hand a bundle of rushes and strike with it, and do not break your oath.” Indeed We found him steadfast. How excellent a servant (of Ours) he was. Indeed he constantly turned (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 for, verily, We purified them by means of a thought most pure: the remembrance of the life to come. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of perpetual residence, whose doors will be opened to them. 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 This is Our provision for you, never to end. 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 hell will they have to endure - and how vile a resting-place! 56 All this (is for them); so let them taste boiling water and pus, 57 And similar other punishments in pairs. 58 Here is an army rushing blindly with you. (Those who are already in the Fire say): No word of welcome for them. Lo! they will roast at the Fire. 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Such disputes will certainly take place among the dwellers of hell fire. 64
