SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – the Almighty, the Oft Forgiving.” 66 Say, "It is great news 67 Ye are therefrom averting. 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. 69 it has only been revealed to me that I am a plain warner." 70 When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust: 71 “So when I have perfected him and breathed into him a spirit from Myself, (you all) fall down before him in prostration.” 72 The angels prostrated themselves, all of them. 73 Except Iblis. He was filled with pride and turned an unbeliever. 74 [Allah] said, "O Iblees, what prevented you from prostrating to that which I created with My hands? Were you arrogant [then], or were you [already] among the haughty?" 75 Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.' 76 "Begone! You are accursed: 77 And lo! My curse is on thee till the Day of Judgment. 78 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 79 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, 80 Until the Day of the time well-known." 81 He said, “Therefore, by oath of Your honour, I will surely mislead all of them.” 82 Except Thy servants from among them, the purified ones. 83 Said Allah, “So this is the truth; and I speak only the truth.” – 84 that I shall certainly fill hell with you and your followers all together". 85 Say: "I do not ask any compensation of you for it, nor am I a specious pretender. 86 It is naught but an admonition unto the worlds. 87 And ye shall surely come to know the truth thereof after a season. 88
