Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am nothing but a warner. There is no deity but Allah, the One, the Supreme, 65 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, the Almighty, the All-Forgiving!" 66 Say: "This is a momentous message, 67 from which you are turning away. 68 "I had no knowledge of the chiefs (angels) on high when they were disputing and discussing (about the creation of Adam). 69 it has only been revealed to me that I am a plain warner." 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down before him in prostration!" 72 So all the angels prostrated, every one, without exception. 73 Except Iblees; he was arrogant and became among the disbelievers. 74 Said He: "O Iblis! What has kept thee from prostrating thyself before that [being] which I have created with My hands? Art thou too proud [to bow down before another created being,] or art thou of those who think [only] of themselves as high?" 75 He (satan) replied: 'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay' 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 And verily My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Requital, 78 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day the (dead) are raised." 79 He said: Lo! thou art of those reprieved 80 till the Appointed Day." 81 He said: Then by Thy Might I will surely make them live an evil life, all, 82 Other than the chosen ones among Your creatures." 83 He said: The truth then is and the truth do I speak: 84 That I shall fill Hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together. 85 Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not ask you for the Qur'an any payment, and I am not of the pretentious 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time. 88
