Still, the man who had attained to faith went on: "O my people! Follow me: I shall guide you onto the path of rectitude! 38 “O my people! The life of this world is just a brief usage, and indeed the next abode is one of everlasting stay.” 39 Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof; but whoever does righteousness, whether male or female, while he is a believer - those will enter Paradise, being given provision therein without account. 40 ۞ And, O my people! What aileth me that I call you unto deliverance when ye call me unto the Fire? 41 You call on me that I should disbelieve in Allah and associate with Him that of which I have no knowledge, and I call you to the Mighty, the most Forgiving; 42 Assuredly, that to which you invite me has no [response to a] supplication in this world or in the Hereafter; and indeed, our return is to Allah, and indeed, the transgressors will be companions of the Fire. 43 And ye will remember what I say unto you. I confide my cause unto Allah. Lo! Allah is Seer of (His) slaves. 44 So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people. 45 The fire – upon which they are presented morning and evening; and when the Last Day is established – “Put the people of Firaun into the most severe punishment.” (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 46 As they will noisily argue in the Fire, the weaker ones will say to the arrogant: "We were your followers, so will you take over some of our share of the fire?" 47 [to which] they who had [once] been arrogant will reply, "Behold, we are all in it [together]! Verily, God has judged between His creatures!" 48 And those in the Fire will say unto the keepers of Hell: supplicate your Lord that He may lighten for us a day of the torment. 49 They will say: came there not your apostles unto you with evidences? They will say: Yea? They will say: supplicate then yourselves. And supplication of the infidels will be but in wandering. 50
