Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 A bearer of glad tidings and a warner. Yet most of them turn aside, so that they hearken not. 4 They say: “Our hearts are securely wrapped up against what you call us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between you and us there is a veil. So act; we too are acting.” 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage' 8
