Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Compassionate, the Merciful. 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 one bearing good news and warning. Yet most of them turned away and are not wont to give heed. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
