If affliction befalls you, it is what your own hands have earned, but He pardons a lot. 30 You cannot frustrate Him in the earth; you have no protector nor helper against Allah. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If it be His Will He can still the Wind: then would they become motionless on the back of the (ocean). Verily in this are Signs for everyone who patiently perseveres and is grateful. 33 or He may cause them to founder because of people's misdeeds, He pardons many of them, 34 But let those know, who dispute about Our Signs, that there is for them no way of escape. 35 So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). 36 And those who avoid heinous sins and indecencies, and when they are wroth forgive. 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 And the retribution for an evil act is an evil one like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation - his reward is [due] from Allah. Indeed, He does not like wrongdoers. 40 Yet indeed, as for any who defend themselves after having been wronged - no blame whatever attaches to them: 41 The way (to blame) is only against those who oppress men and revolt in the earth unjustly; these shall have a painful punishment. 42 But surely he who bears patiently and is forgiving -- surely that is true constancy. 43
