And whatever calamity befalls you, is because of what your hands have earned – and there is a great deal He pardons! 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 And of His Signs are the ships that sail in the sea like mountains. 32 If He so wills, He can cause the winds to become still so that they will remain motionless on its surface. Surely there are many Signs in this for those who are wont to be steadfast and give thanks. 33 Or He wrecks them for what they have earned; and He pardons much; 34 And [that is so] those who dispute concerning Our signs may know that for them there is no place of escape. 35 Whatever ye are given (here) is (but) a convenience of this life: but that which is with Allah is better and more lasting: (it is) for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord: 36 And those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, and when they are angry, they forgive, 37 And those who respond to their Lord and keep up prayer, and their rule is to take counsel among themselves, and who spend out of what We have given them. 38 and who, when insolence visits them, do help themselves -- 39 The recompense of a sin is a sin like it, but whosoever forgives and seeks to reform, his wage will be with Allah. Surely, He does not love the harmdoers. 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 blame falls only on those who wrong men and transgress on this earth without justification, such will have a painful punishment, 42 And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah. 43
