Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much. 30 Nor can ye frustrate (aught), (fleeing) through the earth; nor have ye, besides Allah, any one to protect or to help. 31 Ships sailing in the ocean like ensigns are a sign of His. 32 If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful. 33 Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much. 34 those who dispute Our signs shall learn that they have no escape. 35 Whatever you have received is only for usage in the life of this world, and that which is with Allah is much better and more lasting for those who believe and rely upon their Lord. 36 And those who avoid the major sins and indecencies and, when angered, forgive; 37 and those who answer their Lord, and perform the prayer, their affair being counsel between them, and they expend of that We have provided them, 38 And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves, 39 Let harm be requited by an equal harm. But whoever pardons and amends will find his reward with God. He does not love the wrongdoers. 40 And whoever defends himself after his being oppressed, these it is against whom there is no way (to blame). 41 The way is only open against those who do wrong to the people, and are insolent in the earth wrongfully; there awaits them a painful chastisement. 42 But withal, if one is patient in adversity and forgives - this, behold, is indeed something to set one's heart upon! 43
