Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book, 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people? 6 But never yet came a prophet to them without their deriding him 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sendeth down from the heaven water in measure; then We quicken a dead land therewith: even so ye shall be brought forth. 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 In order that you may mount firmly on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: "Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts)." 13 And verily unto our Lord we are to return. 14 The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful. 15
