Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HA MIM. 1 I swear by the illustrious Book. 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 And how many a prophet did We send to people of olden times! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 And if you should ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "They were created by the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
