Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 CONSIDER this divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth: 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 and behold, it is in the Essence of the Book, with Us; sublime indeed, wise. 4 Shall We then (warn you not and) take away the Reminder (this Quran) from you, because you are a people Musrifun 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 We utterly destroyed them although they were greater in might than these. The examples of ancient peoples have gone before. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He who made the earth a bed for you, and laid out tracks upon it so that you may find the way; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they assign to some of His slaves a share with Him (by pretending that He has children, and considering them as equals or co-partners in worship with Him). Verily, man is indeed a manifest ingrate! 15
