And whoever turns himself away from the remembrance of the Beneficent Allah, We appoint for him a Shaitan, so he becomes his associate. 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 But when he comes to Us, he will say (to his satan): “Would that there had been between me and you the distance as between the East and the West. How evil a companion you were!” 38 On that Day it will not profit you in the least [to know] that, since you have sinned [together,] you are now to share your suffering [as well]. 39 Canst thou then make the deaf to hear, or give direction to the blind or to such as (wander) in manifest error? 40 We shall inflict retribution on them, whether We take you away from the world (before We do that), 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 it is certainly a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be called to account. 44 Ask those of Our Messengers We sent before thee: Have We appointed, apart from the All-merciful, gods to be served? 45
