۞ When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying, 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 He is naught but a bondman: him We favoured, and him We made an ensample unto the Children of Israil. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 Are they waiting except for the Hour to come upon them suddenly while they perceive not? 66 The friends shall on that day be enemies one to another, except those who guard (against evil). 67
