۞ And when the example of the son of Maryam is given, your people laugh at it! 57 "Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people. 58 [As for Jesus,] he was nothing but [a human being] a servant [of Ours] whom We had graced [with prophethood,] and whom We made an example for the children of Israel. 59 if We had so wished, We could have appointed angels in exchange for you to succeed you on the earth. 60 And most surely it is a knowledge of the hour, therefore have no doubt about it and follow me: this is the right path. 61 And let not Satan turn you aside. Lo! he is an open enemy for you. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But parties from among them differed, so woe to those who were unjust because of the chastisement of a painful day. 65 Are they merely waiting for the Hour, which will come upon them suddenly and take them unawares? 66 On that Day even bosom friends shall become enemies to one another, all except the God-fearing. 67
