We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Yet these say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
