Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
