Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
