Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
