Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
