Hizb 53
< random >
Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 He set it before them, saying: 'Will you not eat' 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 His wife came forward, crying and beating her face, saying, "I am an old barren woman!" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And therein We left a sign to those who fear the painful chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
