Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So hearing his wife went forth shouting. She struck her face and exclaimed: “A barren old woman am I.” 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
