Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they entered unto him, saying 'Peace!' he said 'Peace! You are a people unknown to me.' 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 marked by your Lord for the sinful' 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
