Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors." 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa (Moses) (too, there is a sign). When We sent him to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with a manifest authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
