Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But they revolted against the commandment of their Lord, so the rumbling overtook them while they saw. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
