The Mountain (Al-Toor)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the Mount 1 And by oath of a passage, written – 2 on fine parchment; 3 And by oath of the Inhabited House. 4 And the roof exalted, 5 and by the swelling sea: 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains quickly move. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 Who play in talk of grave matters; 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is it magic then or do you not see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Lo! those who kept their duty dwell in gardens and delight, 17 Happy because of what their Lord hath given them, and (because) their Lord hath warded off from them the torment of hell-fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 They will recline on couches arranged in rows and We shall couple them with maidens with large, lovely eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 “Indeed we used to worship Him in our previous life; indeed He only is the Benign, the Most Merciful.” 28
