The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Mount; 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 on fine parchment; 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 This is the fire which you used to deny. 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did, 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
