Therefore proclaim thou the praises (of thy Lord): for by the Grace of thy Lord, thou art no (vulgar) soothsayer, nor art thou one possessed. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say (unto them): Except (your fill)! Lo! I am with you among the expectant. 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise. 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
