Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or have they a ladder whereon they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are over-burdened by debt? 40 Do they possess knowledge of the unseen, so that they can write it down? 41 Or, do they desire to outwit? The unbelievers are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 The Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 Be patient, then, (O Prophet), until the judgement of your Lord comes. For surely you are before Our eyes. And celebrate the praise of your Lord when you rise, 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49
